Granola

Ingredients

4 cups large flake oats

1/2 cup spent grain, from beer making (optional)

1/4 cup olive oil

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup chopped almonds

1/3 cup sunflower seeds

1/3 cup desiccated coconut

1/3 cup dried cranberries

1/4 cup cocoa nibs

Procedure

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl except for the cranberries and cacao nibs. Mix well.
  3. Place the mixture onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes. Give the granola a mix halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. If you like your granola to have larger clumps, give your mixture a press down at this time.
  4. Remove the tray from the oven and sprinkle with cranberries and cacao nibs and press into the granola.
  5. Let the batch cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring it into a jar.

Notes

  • Feel free to switch up some of the ingredients, add, or remove.
