Easy Rustic Crackers

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper (optional)

1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

2 tsp herb (thyme, rosemary, sage etc.)

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter, softened

1/2 cup cold water

Procedure

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix all ingredients together until it forms a uniform ball.
  3. Divide the dough in half and let it rest for at least 10 minutes.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough until very thin.
  5. Slice into shapes or bake whole on parchment paper for about 10 – 12 minutes.
  6. Midway through the baking time reverse the pans, top to bottom, front to back to even out the baking.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on the pan.
  8. Break into pieces if baked whole and serve.

Notes

  • You can add just about anything you want to these crackers such as parmesan, paprika, flax seeds, etc. Have fun and go crazy!
