
Ingredients
2 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup sour cream
frying oil
3 1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 tsp corn syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 water
Procedure
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg and set aside.
- Beat together the eggs and sugar with a paddle attachment.
- Add egg yolks one at a time.
- Add the sour cream and continue to mix.
- Add the dry and mix until combined.
- Chill the batter for 1 hour. Batter can be chilled up to 1 week.
- Roll the dough out into 1/2 inch thickness and cut out donut shapes.
- Chill the donuts for 30 minutes before frying.
- To make icing, mix together icing sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and water.
- Heat your frying oil to 325°F to 340°F.
- Fry for 1:15 minutes on each side.
- Coat the donuts in icing while still warm.
- Let icing set and cool donut on a cooling rack.

Notes
- Give your donuts breathing room in your fryer. They don’t like to be overcrowded.
- Remember to check the temperature of the frying oil frequently. Dropping cold donuts into the frying oil may drop your oil temperature and your cooking times.
